Cigale Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2004
|
BN#167233 |
Vibrant, ruby red with blue hues. Bright and lifted fruit aromas of cherry plum, blackberry and black currants interlaid with spices, dates, cocoa and warm earthy notes. Medium to full-bodied with flavours that mirror the aromas; cherry, sour plum, currants. Fine lightly drying grape tannins give the wine freshness on the finish. Each varietal component contributes differing flavours and aspects which together work very well. The Grenache gives the wine its perfume and aromatic spiciness, the Shiraz structure and weight and the Mourvedre a wonderful earthiness and complexity. Enjoy now or over the next 5 years.
Wine Spectator
Rich and spicy, with a gorgeous core of blackberry, blueberry and plum fruit, shaded with smoky white pepper notes that keep ringing through the long, beautifully balanced finish. Tannins are there but well-submerged. Best from 2007 through 2016. 800 cases made.
Score: 92.
