Quintessential Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, pungent fruity flavours on the nose that spring from the glass. Tropical fruits, paw paw, mango and pineapple; berry fruit, blackcurrant, elderberry, gooseberry and aromatic herbs of rosemary, thyme and sage. The fruit intensity on the nose is mirrored on the palate with persistent flavour, full body, lingering finish and refreshing character. I judge this wine equal to any we've made over the past 15 vintages, enjoy! Wine Enthusiast A big, round Sauvignon Blanc, but it never seems too big or too bulky, instead delivering ripe melon, nectarine and gooseberry flavors crisply balanced by citrusy acids. Long and intense on the finish. Score: 91. —Joe Czerwinski, July 01, 2006. Wine & Spirits Cool in tone, with restrained scents of mint and shiso, this delivers a full arc of light spicy flavor. It finishes with an earthy bite to complement celery root remoulade. Score: 91. June 01, 2006. Wine Spectator Bright and lively, with oodles of green apple, mineral and grassy aromas and flavors mingling enticingly as the racy finish sails on and on. Drink now. 2,000 cases imported. Score: 90. —Harvey Steiman, April 30, 2006.
