The wine is golden straw in colour with inviting aromas of stone fruits and custard apples. Seductive layers of nectarine, pear and crème brulee are seen on the palate. The wine has a silky texture and a depth of flavour that progresses to a lingering crisp acid finish. A wine of finesse. Enjoy this wine now or watch it gracefully mature for up to 10 years. James Halliday Medium yellow-green; beautifully made; relatively light sweet nectarine fruit has not been submerged in oak; fresh finish and aftertaste. Score: 95. Wine Enthusiast Yum. The best of the Wise Chardonnays I tried, this bottling offers apple and pear aromas, and pear and mineral flavors. Very light in color, with only a hint of toast coming through on the finish.
