Wayne Thomas Petit Verdot 2005
|
BN#185935 |
A darkly coloured and intense wine with characters of spice, pepper, cassis and violets, backed up with cedary oak that is also evident on the palate with massive fruit flavour and integrated tannins that enables you to cellar this wine with confidence.
Wine Advocate
The 2005 Petit Verdot was aged for 12 months in new French oak hogsheads. Opaque purple colored, it exhibits notes of toasty oak, spice, pepper, violets, cassis and blackberry. This leads to a full-bodied, opulant, layered, intensly flavored wine with well concealed tannins and excellent balance. Give it 6-8 years in the cellar and drink it through 2030. The late Wayne Thomas, a well known winemaker and consultant, launched his namesake label in 1994 with fruit sourced from aroung the McLaren Vale.
