This wine is intensely dark in colour with purple tinges. A loaded nose of blackberry, raspberry, pepper and spice that is backed up by smoky American oak. The palate resembles the aromas with nice firm tannins backed up with vanillan oak. Wine & Spirits Rich scents of tobacco smoke meld with edgier black pepper and game, giving this shiraz a bold middle, then a soft end. It's balanced without the heat of its contemporaries, suited to roast duck. Score: 90. February 2007.
